Sirach
Chapter 3 2 For the LORD sets a father in honor over his children; a mother's authority he confirms over her sons. 3 He who honors his father atones for sins; 4 he stores up riches who reveres his mother. 5 He who honors his father is gladdened by children, and when he prays he is heard. 6 He who reveres his father will live a long life; he obeys the LORD who brings comfort to his mother. 12 My son, take care of your father when he is old; grieve him not as long as he lives. 13 Even if his mind fail, be considerate with him; revile him not in the fullness of your strength. 14 For kindness to a father will not be forgotten, it will serve as a sin offering--it will take lasting root. |

Catholic Fundamentalism Interpretation
The Programmer sets a human father (sub-programmer) over his programmed downloads; he also gives the mother the same authority. He who honors his earthly programmer makes up for errors, he will program successfully if he reveres his mother. He who honors his father is made happy by the opportunity to make further human downloads, and The Programmer will listen to his requests for programming assistance. He who loves his father will stay long in operation, he obeys The Programmer by bringing comfort to his maternal programmer. My obedient human program, take care of your earthly programmer when he's old, don't make him worry and fret. Even if his operating system doesn't work, don't revile him when you are much stronger. Kindness to the human source of your program won't be erased or disappear, it will serve to make up for your sins, and will take lasting root, letting your program go on and on. |
Reading II
Colossians
Chapter 3 12 Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if one has a grievance against another; as the Lord has forgiven you, so must you also do. 14 And over all these put on love, that is, the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of Christ control your hearts, the peace into which you were also called in one body. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, as in all wisdom you teach and admonish one another, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. 18 1 Wives, be subordinate to your husbands, as is proper in the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your wives, and avoid any bitterness toward them. 20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing to the Lord. 21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, so they may not become discouraged.

Catholic Fundamentalism Interpretation:
Those chosen by The Programmer are holy and beloved. They download and obey the following operating instructions: heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, bearing with one another, forgiving one another. Since The Programmer has forgiven the errors you have wilfully committed, you must forgive others' errors. And, as a guiding download, love will be a sign that you seek perfection. Let the peace of The Program, Jesus Christ in perfect, loving, human form control your hearts, the peaceful operation into which you were called in one body. And, be thankful (for the opportunity to make your downloads). Let The Program's instructions dwell fully in you, driving out all other operating systems, as in His wisdom you teach and admonish one another, repeating sections of operating code in music with gratitude to The Programmer. Also, whatever you do and say, do it in the name of The Program, giving thanks to The Programmer (God the Father) through Him. Wives, be subordinate to your senior programmer, as is proper with The PRogrammer. Husbands, love the human program to whom you are jointly merged, and avoid any bitterness toward them. Children, obey your human programmers in everything, for this pleases The Programmer. Fathers, don't provoke the human programs you have helped create, so that they don't become unable to operate properly.

Gospel
Matthew
Chapter 2 13 1 When they had departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, "Rise, take the child and his mother, flee to Egypt, 2 and stay there until I tell you. Herod is going to search for the child to destroy him." 14 Joseph rose and took the child and his mother by night and departed for Egypt. 15 3 He stayed there until the death of Herod, that what the Lord had said through the prophet might be fulfilled, "Out of Egypt I called my son." 19 When Herod had died, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt 20 and said, "Rise, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the child's life are dead." 4 21 He rose, took the child and his mother, and went to the land of Israel. 22 But when he heard that Archelaus was ruling over Judea in place of his father Herod, 5 he was afraid to go back there. And because he had been warned in a dream, he departed for the region of Galilee. 23 6 He went and dwelt in a town called Nazareth, so that what had been spoken through the prophets might be fulfilled, "He shall be called a Nazorean."

Catholic Fundamentalism Interpretation:
After the Wise Men left, a Senior Programmer appeared to Joseph in a dream and told him to "Get up, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you to return. Herod is going to search for The Program in order to erase Him from the face of the earth." Joseph got up, took the Program and Blessed Mary, ever Virgin, at night and went to Egypt. He stayed there until Herod was erased so that what The Programmer had said through a human Programming Assistant (prophet) might be fulfilled, "Out of Egypt, I called my Son."
when Herod was erased, the Senior Programmer appeared in Joseph's dream, and said, "Get up, take The Program and His mother to the land of given to your forefathers, for those who wanted to erase The Program are dead." Joseph rose, took the child and his mother and went to Israel.
When Joseph heard that Archelaus was ruling over Judea instead of his father, Herod, he was afraid to go back there. And, because he had been warned in a dream, he went to Galilee. He moved to Nazareth, so that what the human programming assistants had written would be fulfilled, "He shall be called a Nazorean."
